One of the favorite games of elderly people is called mahjong. In this article let us be oriented with the history of this game. Let us take a look.
It is also spelled mah-jong or mah-jongg. Of course we all know that it is of Chinese origin, dated back especially from the court of King of Wu. It is said to be that in his kingdom, there lived to be a beautiful princess in seclusion. To keep herself from utter boredom, she had invented a game of her own. From this idea, she began to carve domino-shaped pieces of ivory and bamboo.
After doing it, she asked three of her maids who play the game she had invented with her. The exact rules that were applied are unknown but the lowest score is said to have been 22 points and the highest 389,928 points.
For many centuries the game remained as the royal game exclusive for royal families. Do you believe that it was against the law for the commoners to play the game? If there were commoners who were caught playing this game, he or she will be decapitated as penalty. However, due to the increasing public demand, the penalty was lifted around 500 A.D. and this was the time when everyone can play the said game.

The game called Mahjong
March 25th, 2011The Games of the Generals
March 21st, 2011
When I was kid I got curious on the Games of the Generals. I really wanted to play it but I was really young to understand the various rules of this game. This game is also called in Tagalog language as Salpakan. It is commonly abbreviated to GG, or is most fondly called on its shorter term The Generals. On its overview, this game is an educational wargame and is invented in the Philippines by Sofronio H. Pasola, Jr. himself.
The entire game can be usually played within twenty to thirty minutes. The only issue of this for me is it is you need an arbiter to play the game and it is really hard to find a referee. To play the game, logic is needed. It stimulates armies at war trying to outflank and outmaneuver each other. As in actual warfare, the game allows only one side’s plan to succeed.
As a whole, this game is one of the best games I have ever played. If ever I have leisure time, I always find time to play it. It is a good way for me to relax after a long hours of working.

Fun in Online Games
March 16th, 2011When my kids started schooling, I am bothered that they would divert their interests in other things instead of their studies. My eldest is now ten years old while the younger one is turning seven years old this month. I know that if I would be too strict to them, it would not be good at all. I am always trying to be empathetic and put my self to their own shoes.
One day, my eldest son asked me if I could teach them how to play online games. I supposed to say that they should not learn playing those games but what I told them is to wait until this weekend and we will try to look for any interesting online game. But I told them that they need to spend more time in reading their books rather than playing.
Here comes the weekend. Of course I am aware that the promise you have given to your kids will never be forgotten. My kids’ typical Saturday is that they spend their whole day running in the playground. But it has been changed suddenly when they have learned to play online games. One of the reason is, it is just a single click and presto you can choose what games your kids wanted to play.
However, I know my kids will also learn something on playing online games. First and foremost, they will learn how to interact with the challenges on the games. They would also understand the ideas of the words winning and losing. By these thoughts alone I would also feel happy looking at my kids having fun in playing online games!

March 7th, 2011
One of the most enjoyable games all through out the times is the hide and seek. This is played in all parts of the world. From all ranges of age, one will find joy and excitement when one plays it.
The game will start when the group of players has already chosen one who will seek for the other players who will hide. The ‘seeker’ will close his or her eyes while the other players will go to hide. At the count of ten, everybody should be in their places hiding. The ‘seeker’ will now search for the other players.
When one is caught, the ‘seeker’ will shout for a word or a phrase, signaling the he or she has caught another member of the game. The round of the game will end if all other members or players are already seen by the ‘seeker’.
The next one who will seek for those who will hide is based on the first or last one seen or sought.
It is true that sometimes it is very happy to be back for the days that we were still young. However, it is not bad. Get some other members and have some fun in playing the hide and seek.
